HONOUR ROLL FOR PEACE

The Honour Roll for Peace at Addison Road Community Centre is the first of its kind in this country. It records the names of people and groups from Sydney and beyond who have resisted war, sought the just and peaceful resolution of conflict, or contributed to building a better world.
The Honour Roll for Peace was inaugurated on 28th of October 2016, marking the centenary of Australia’s vote against conscription in a referendum held in the midst of World War One. The Honour Roll stands at the gates of Addison Road Community Centre, a former military depot and the site of anti-conscription and anti-war protests during the Vietnam War. This project is part of ARCCO’s Living Museum program. It is funded through community subscription, with the creation and installation of the plaques co-ordinated by the Addison Road Community Centre Organisation.
