Theys Eluay was famous throughout West Papua and was elected as the Chairperson of the Papua Presidium Council. He peacefully led the West Papuan people towards Independence until his brutal murder.
Ryamizard Ryacudu, who has been made the new Indonesian Defence Minister once notoriously said that the people who killed Theys Eluay are "heroes".
Though Theys Eluay was murdered, he continues to inspire the people of West Papua and people all around the world to continue the peaceful struggle until West Papua is finally free.
We will never forget Chief Theys Eluay, nor his incredible vision to Free West Papua from illegal Indonesian occupation.
We are sure that one day West Papua will finally be free!
